Executive Council:

The Executive Council, with Robert Bakall, M.D., the President, Officers and Committee Members meets several times a year to conduct the business of the District Branch.

Assembly Representatives and Public Affairs Representative are actively involved representing the District Branch at the New York State Psychiatric Association   and American Psychiatric Association Meetings.

The Treasurer and Alternate Treasurer are accountable to the Executive Council to establish an annual budget, monitor expenditures and income (provided through membership dues) and work with a Certified Public Accountant to meet the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service as they apply to the District Branch.

Randy Pardell, M.D., the District Branch Program Chairman plans and executes nine membership meetings a year that include pertinent educational programs with a business and social activity included.

In conclusion the professional skills of the Psychiatrist always are in great demand but particularly in the last decade with the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York

City in 1991, followed by the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, with our returning Veterans suffering from injuries and PTSD, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, the heavy winter of 2008-09, our troubled youth with the shooting and killings in our schools and ultimately the raging destruction of our collapsing economy has created a troubled society in dire need of the services of our Psychiatrists.

It is hoped that the District Branch provides some measure of support to the members who work to meet the needs of those in distress.
